Dear All.

To all of you who already purchased the tickets, I would like to say that we are very much looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at Elixir's NYE Party.
We will have a great night with fantastic DJs and a great fun!
We will have a wide choice of beers, spirits, drinks and cocktails available throughout the night with some special prices at the bar!!
We will have a promotion of a NYE special shot based on an Eastern European (well known to me from the times when I used to party in Poland) recipe called "MAD DOG", which will warm you up and put you in a good mood for long lasting fun:) ( for more details ask at the bar)

There will be food and snacks available all night with a warm breakfast served from 4.30am onwards ( and we will have meaty, vegatarian and vegan options to choose from).

For those of you who did not purchase their tickets yet and are thinking of coming, there will be a handful of tickets still available on the door.

Please, feel free to call the Elixir Bar during the night if you decide to join us later during the night to find out if there is any space to fit you in;)

trying to put my mind to other things but just cannot stop getting upset... very silly until we actually have a try tomorrow, i know why i do not watch news...i turn into a worrying upset mess...having just chatted to my mum did not really helped either ...i hate that buzzing hot stress feeling...i try so hard to remove any stress from my lifestyle as i know how bad i can be but today i cannot keep my eyes dry...it is so silly, then i get even more upset for being so silly.

Sunday was very grumpy and tired start as just was awake too early…and wanted more sleep but just wasn’t happening…I was later joined by Simon and we made our way to Bree Louise for food and beers …interesting dark rum truffle beer and some tasty dragon wind welsh cider….We then all made our way to ULU, strange to be in work vicinity on weekend.

Got in at 7pm , then at 7.30 Laibach confused us by coming on stage…they were as fab as always, very pleased they played some of the anthems and famous numbers I really like. I just found his voice so hypnotic…even when he just talked it’s intense, loved it…such a magical way to end the gig year.

Then after the break Juno reactor came on, I have to say never heard of them, had no idea what to expect…at first I was pleasantly surprised as it was very unexpected, lots going on on stage: Zulu dancers & preaching rave rapper . It reminded me to my Return to the Source and Whirl -y -gig days, love some of the elements like the tribal,  ethnic components, the fab girl voice, the mix and match of style and energy but  not the repetition and dance bits. Most of the tracks seemed to go on and on, he seemed to be preaching a lot and I just couldn’t get into it that much…we watch about an hour and decide to have an early exit .

Saturday was very efficient, got up earlier than I wanted but ended up having lovely stroll around Camden market in the cold sunshine, picking last few unplanned presents and a much needed pair of stompy boots all furry and wintery. The afternoon was spent packing, tidying the flat, and lots of boring must do tasks. It all went smoothly and on time, I was even able to join Patricia for some mulled wine  at hers and  Christine birthday celebration at Invocation. I also played with some straight hair bit from bring and buy ..not had long straight hair in a long time... Photos )

Last day at work, I cannot imagine I will do much as I am just too upset. I will try to at least remember the fun weekend.

Friday I spent lovely evening catching up with Serena, Irene and Tom…delicious home cook dinner, followed by Big Red. They had a Christmas party, it was absolutely packed, and we got a free show and free test tube shots. From sexy fire show, jigsaw fire, fire hula-hoop’s, burlesque striptease, amber serenading, and a rock n roll band…very much fun…afterward we went on to the Gaff for beauty of Poison, which was also free entry .I just love that pub the dark carved gargoyles and impressive dark wooden furniture, fireplace, red walls and very jolly atmosphere… did quite bit of dancing and ended up staying till about 3ish…. Great way to start the weekend… Photos )

I spent the weekend in ignorant bliss, involving lots of fun and clubbing, although a few mentioned some problems ,  i hadn't realised the gravity of the eurostar problem...i am really stress and worried i won't be able to go to france. This really sadden and upset me. Simon and I are supposed to get on a train tomorrow and until 6pm tonight we won't even know if there will be train and if so will have to hope like thousands of others that we will be able to get on one and catch our train connection to south of france.

I am glad i didn't catch the news all weekend so i could have lots of fun in ignorance , now i have seen them I just want to cry .

December 20th, 2009

As you may have guessed, [as I've mentioned it several times], I've been working on a werewolf handbook much like the one I did for zombies. It's been taking much of time as of late, so I've been a bit remiss when it comes to email lately. Likewise I haven't been posting updates here as often as I would like, but there simply isn't much time for frivolity, except for the occasional post on
Facebook or Twitter. With that said, if you'd like to keep up on what I'm up to, take a peek over there on occasion if you so fancy.

I have been receiving quite a few emails from readers who enjoyed my novel Fairest of All. I always love hearing from my readers and it's especially welcome when I am in the middle of a stressful deadline because it breaks things up and reminds me of one the many reasons I enjoy my work so well. I wish I had the time to write you all back personally, but please know how much I appreciate the thoughtful, heartfelt letters that have been coming in. Thank you.

I am enjoying writing this werewolf book, and I am eagerly awaiting the completion of Zombie. I will be sure to post release dates when the time comes. I'm sure there are many of you who know young teens who will love these books, and you might even possibly get some enjoyment out of them yourself!

I hope you all have a happy holiday!

Serena

2009 in Gigs

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

Having a little end of the year looking back at the year in gigs, a good year but fewer , will have to wait and see what 2010 will bring for live music…(and still one more on Sunday)

The 2 bands I saw the most were unsurprisingly exactly the same as last year …although sadly only 4 times each this time
Inkubus Sukkubus (x4)
Rome Burns (x4)

I think my those 5 were the highlights of the year for me
:
Rosa Crux (BtV)
Faith & the Muse (London)
Inkubus Sukkubus (Sheffield)
Tarja (london)
Sieben (BtV)

But there was so many other great bands enjoyed this year…I just love having a little think back , cheers me up and makes me all excited about future gigs to go and enjoy

This week been mainly about catching up with friends and partaking in a little mulled winery product. Last night lovely evening with batpuss, from toffee cheesecake to a facebook crash course :)
And there was still no snow when he left and still no snow this morning…however I really felt the icy cold this morning when doing the recycling as those bins were covered in ice, my little finger still red and recovering…

At the moment we seemed okay for our days travelling but this eurostar striking menace is a worry…
